FAQs

No. Although our mission is to benefit Badger student-athletes and their community, VC Connect is a separate entity from the University of Wisconsin and operates within the letter and spirit of NCAA regulations.

As a registered LLC, membership costs and all other payments made to VC Connect are not tax deductible.

If you are looking to make a tax-deductible contribution to support student athletes, you can donate to The Varsity Collective Charitable Fund, a registered 501(c)(3) non profit organization by the IRS.

VC Connect is a wholly owned LLC subsidiary (sister organization) of The Varsity Collective. We primarily serve to offer unique memberships to fans and to facilitate business deals and individual partnerships with student-athletes.

The Varsity Collective is a 501(c3) charitable entity, and donations are tax deductible.

In 2021, the NCAA began allowing student-athletes to be compensated for their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). That change gave Badger student-athletes control over their own personal brand, and today, they can benefit from deals, partnerships and other opportunities—just like any professional athlete.
